Me & Him

We don't have a typical love story. But it's ours.
While thanking my husband today, for once again being my knight in shining armor, I thought I'd dedicate this post to him.

We met in Amsterdam in 2008. He was beginning his European travels and I was ending mine. We were roommates for two nights and three days. Once I got home, we began speaking through Facebook. A few chats here and messages there turned into hours on the phone and computer. For a year, we had a long distance relationship.

I finally went to visit him in London in the fall of 2009. The trip only confirmed what I already knew - he is my soul ate.

Nor if you would have asked the Cassie before she met Sam, I would have told you soul mates are crap and true love is only in fairy tales. Well, an English man taught me differently.

Many people frowned upon it and/or were convinced it wouldn't work. But two and a half years of an incredibly happy marriage later, I couldn't imagine my life without him.

I still get butterflies when he calls me just to tell me he loves me. My heart still aches when he's not around.

He is my best friend, who I can be my complete and utterly ridiculous self with.

So, Sam, I love you. You are my heart and soul.

You are the measure of my dreams.

And to those out there that believe the following:

  • Long distance relationships don't work.
  • True love isn't real.
  • Soul mates are fictitious.
I can tell you, I am living proof that all the above is possible. So if you have it, enjoy it and if you don't, hang tight, you will.

Still the best and most ridiculous photo ever.

Happy Friday eve lovelies!

THIS. I always hate it when people try and explain my relationship to me.

You guys are so cute - hopefully I can have something like that one day.
